SAD NEWS
Very sadly, Enfys Roberts passed away on 18th July after a long illness. Enfys had worked for the Company since 2004.
Also, tragically, Joan Morris was killed in a road traffic accident on 2nd March this year. Both of these carers worked in the Aberystwyth area and are greatly missed.
PREMISES
We have recently had a stair lift fitted at our office, making the training room accessible to disabled visitors. We are also being 're-roofed' and it is hoped that our landlord will be converting the attic space into office accommodation for us.
FUND RAISING
A sponsored 'Fishathon' took place on Newquay pier over the weekend commencing 5th August. This was organized by Chris Standen and was a great success. All proceeds will go to the Beacon of Hope charity. Please support this event as it is in aid of a very worthwhile cause. So far over £200.00 has been raised with more sponsor forms still to come in.
HOURS/CONTRACTS
There has been a steady rise in service user numbers and contracts issued over the year. This is demonstrated in our weekly figures; in the period 28.03.11 to 31.07.11 our weekly hours averaged 2022.23: in the same period last year our weekly hours averaged 1827.25.
SUMMER BONUS
As a special thanks for all the hard work and commitment that has been shown lately, I have decided to pay a 'one off' bonus this summer to all staff that have been with the Company for 3 months or more. This will be paid in Boots vouchers like the Xmas bonus.
RECRUITMENT
We are currently advertising for both care workers and support staff in all areas. The Company is constantly expanding and there is a recruitment drive on at the moment. If you know of anyone who may be interested in joining us, please tell them about the job and ask them to contact us.
Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard recently to 'keep the show on the road', it is much appreciated.
